Tighten up your seat belts… because the most thrilling format of cricket is back with yet another fourth world cup. This time Srilanka is blessed with the honor to host the 4th T20 World Cup on their land. Yet again the dare devils of cricket will muster their energies and muscles to fight in the most thrilling form of sport. This time 10 teams PLUS 2 Associate teams are participating. T20 World Cup 2012 in Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka.
ICC World Twenty20 is the international championship of Twenty20 Cricket. It is commonly abridged as T20 cricket. As the name suggests, the game is organized by ICC (International Cricket Council), the governing body of cricket in the world. The 2012 ICC World Twenty20 will be the fourth ICC World Twenty20 competition. The international Twenty20 cricket tournament is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka between September 18 and October 7, 2012. T20 World Cup 2012 will be the first World Twenty20 tournament held in an Asian country, the last three being held in South Africa, England and the West Indies respectively.

T20 WorldCup 2012 Teams
In the year 2012, twelve teams will participate in the ICC World Twenty20 tournament. Out of twelve, 10 full members of ICC would qualify automatically. For the remaining two spots, sixteen qualifier teams will play ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier in early 2012. The tournament will include six ODI members and ten qualifiers from regional Twenty20 tournament. Two teams entering into final would be qualified for ICC World Twenty20 2012.

Critics have already started the blame game complaining too much of cricket especially Twenty20 cricket is the root for fatigue among players and the T20 World Cup time table should be reviewed in order to save cricket. The 20 odd day long tournament will be concluded with the final match played at the Premdasa Stadium on October 7. The T20 World Cup fixtures include participating nations like Sri Lanka (the host), Zimbabwe, Australia, Ireland, Afghanistan, India, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, West Indies, Pakistan and England. Despite the T20 fever of IPL donning the cricket World at present, the T20 World Cup is expected to throw a lot of surprises off the shore.
